Artwork title : Portrait of a Wildfire

Over the past 12 months I have worked on the interpretation of nature in Australia, whereby I create larger works by assembling small colorful elements into a single view of the subject matter. The objective is to portray and assemble the myriad of nature’s brilliant colors and textures, using recycled acetate sheets, cut into small squares of around 40mm.

In this work I have assembled and adhered 361 acrylic-painted, individual acetate squares to the 76cm x 76cm canvas. These unique “fire-flashes” invite the viewer to take time to visually interact with the work, and to touch it to further sense the diversity of nature’s textures.
