Artwork title : Wings

Wings" was inspired by a drawing that I had created in 2020. During this time, I had become nearly obsessed with capturing the essence of a bird's flight in color and form. Now in 2021 I felt compelled to do the same with this piece "Wings" in paint. In terms of process, the molding paste that dries on the canvas was where I began for texture. For the initial stages of my work I never work too tightly, and I just let the painting become what it wants to be. Next came the oils, and I felt drawn to the bright red paint first. The light blue, yellow and pink emerged very naturally during the process. This piece at its core is about perspective. Wings are a symbol of perspective, as they enable the bird to gain different vantage points of the world.
