Artwork title : Recomposition No. 10 | 2024
The impact of urban environments and architecture is a complex topic beyond physical entities. Architectural buildings convey a city's history, culture, and identity. My father's emphasis on technical precision and the significance of perspective, balance, and scale ignited my passion for architecture.
Recomposition No. 10 focuses on the urban space around the landmark Oculus in downtown New York City and includes spatial concepts. The piece meticulously combines digital photographs that capture the underlying geometries of the landmark Oculus' built environment with abstract geometric shapes and digital painting techniques. Layer by layer, I added different brushes and colors to infuse the composition with a vibrant celebration of form, color, and structure.
Freedom Plaza's design, a unique fusion of diverse styles and influences, surrounds the 9/11 Memorial at the World Trade Center. It commemorates the two former skyscrapers with two square fountains and offers a space for healing and reflection. The digital painting on the upper left side of the artwork uniquely interprets the water flowing over the remaining scars.
Recomposition No. 10 draws inspiration from the BAUHAUS movement and architectural elements. The final artwork is a geometric abstract that melds historical essence with modernity, while this fusion of influences and styles captivates and inspires. It is produced on archival pigment paper and offered in five limited editions.
