Artwork title : Mended Dreams

Mended Dreams - Installation of 12 impressions of a broken ceramic plate, everyone turned at a different angle to create the illusion of one and the same figure standing, jumping, making a bridge or balancing on their forearms.

Each plate has a diameter of 17cm. The installation needs the space of approximately 65cm width and 90cm height on a wall.

This is not an original photograph of the finished installation! It´s only one piece of it, multiplicated to form an idea of the final artwork! It is a finished work but never had the opportunity to hang on a wall before.

The infividual plates are all the same impression, but glazed with whit white OR black lines. The violet engobe inside of the figure is applied differently every time and glazed transparent and glossy. The overlapping "scars" are first glazed and then painted with a semi-matte bronze acrylic paint. each plate has small holes to carry the one benath it or be hanged.

Meaning:

"Mended Dreams" forms an artistic goal for the depicted person of being visible in the artworld with their achievements and abilities. The scars show the mended wounds of trial and error that in the end define the result and bring it to another level. Its meaning is an ambivalence of strength, achievement and failure that intertwines and paves the route of individual goals and dreams.
