Artwork title : Harriet Jacobs: Journey to Saturn, Year 5
NASA actually used the term Venus-Venus-Earth-Jupiter Gravity Assist to describe the complex trajectory that the Cassini Huygens mission takes to travel from Earth to Saturn in 7 years. The absurd but technically accurate terminology helps illustrate the strange but true story of Harriet Jacobs who hid in her grandmother’s attic for 7 years with the help of friends and family who secretly provided her with food, drink and provisions. Harriet had two small children who did not know she was hiding just above the yard where they played and she spent hours watching them from above, just as the Cassini satellite orbited Saturn to observe its wonders.
