Artwork title : Pervade

Pervade explores the temporal gap between self-awareness and actual change. Our understanding of ourselves tends to be retrospective: regret, realisation, and self-correction are signals that appear only after change has taken place, rather than an immediate grasp of it as it unfolds. Change moves like permeation — it has no clear starting point, and only reveals itself as an accomplished fact once it is noticed.

The work is made through lampworking, shaped between flame and glass. By constructing the permeation and interlocking of different states, it turns this cognitive gap into a visible, material form. The shape carries the warmth and rhythm of a living organism, alluding to those changes that take place within the body yet escape real-time perception.

Pervade does not attempt to judge or compensate for this delay in perception. It presents a persistent reality: between perception and occurrence, there is always an interval that consciousness has not yet reached, and our understanding of ourselves takes shape through the repeated recognition of this interval — inviting the viewer to face change itself, and to reflect on their own relationship with time and with others.
