Artwork title : Turbulence III

Turbulence III is a generative video art created by Alvin Mak. Abstract imagery is warped and bent through 3D parametric data. The formation and dissolution of elements presents the chaos of turbulent flow.

If a picture is a thousand words, Turbulence is the moving picture of a thousand thoughts. We form our perception of the world based on observation of our immediate surroundings. We watch our present unfold and decide on our direction by digesting fragments of information. Some actions gather strength while others fade; some move in opposite direction and lock into a swirl. We watch a multitude of events across the horizon to seek patterns in a changing and unfamiliar landscape. Just as we adapt to the moment, a new tide comes in and wipes everything away. We could only look on and swim to stay afloat.
