Artwork title : im sorry i couldnt paint the painting you wanted so please take this one
im sorry i could not paint the painting you wanted so please take this one derived from multiple request for commissions in black and white. I use color to assist in the visual narrative of my paintings, I consider it a requirement for me to relay the message of the painting. When I conceptualize a painting, the colors are based on the subject matter and not on my preference therefore a request for a painting in a specific color palette is somewhat absurd. This artwork is the outcome of trial and error and ending with a result that I feel is very appropriate for the request. To date, it contains the highest count of words, shapes and complexity within all of my paintings. It was the most difficult painting to complete and the most difficult painting to interpret.
This painting is part of the Morse Code Series. The dots and lines used in the Morse code writing system have been adapted to circles and triangles in this series. The titles of each painting represent the actual words used in the composition. Prominent quadrants separate the words from each other. Letters are defined by shapes with which the lines intersect each other. Shapes pertaining to the makeup of each letter must be read left to right and top to bottom; the tip of the triangle always points down to determine the correct viewing position.
