Artwork title : family loves cold pool on hot day

family loves cold pool on hot day is inspired by a joyous Sunday afternoon by the pool. I have 2 young children whom like to splash and wrestle in the pool. The colors of blue match the tile and water, pink / orange is for my daughter’s/son’s swimsuit, green for the foliage around the pool. This is a very happy moment which is represented in the majority of colors used in the painting, the darker colors (including black) represent my sadness in knowing the time will pass. I want the viewer to feel the energy of splashing water and the vitality that children bring to the pool.

This painting is part of the Morse Code Series. The dots and lines used in the Morse code writing system have been adapted to circles and triangles in this series. The titles of each painting represent the actual words used in the composition. Prominent quadrants separate the words from each other. Letters are defined by shapes with which the lines intersect each other. Shapes pertaining to the makeup of each letter must be read left to right and top to bottom; the tip of the triangle always points down to determine the correct viewing position.
