Jana Buettner Germany Sculpture

This work is trying to go against the

the shame of nudity

The sculpture reflects the moment of struggling with oneself. She still covers her body, but in her expression one can expect that she will take off her coat in the next moment.

The first input when we see our nude body is to cover it.

Letting somebody, even ourselves, see all the sides of us, with what we call imperfect, gives us a feeling of vulnerability.

When was the last time we looked at ourselves naked in the mirror without that mentioned  feeling? To put this reflex aside and actually be in peace with our body trying to put our mind and body together, and being grateful for the body which carries us through live.
