This badger was in the middle of an intense digging session when it stopped to look directly at me. I immediately captured a photo of him.  I was approximately 15 feet away. This close up wonderfully displays a “caught in the action” theme by the concentration still seen in its eyes along with the detail of lingering dirt crumbs all over his face.  Photo was taken at the Living Desert Zoo in Southern CA USA
