David Clement Davies United Kingdom Sculpture

The Heavy Hand of Man is in a series of bronzes based on Adult FairyTale Retellings. By a prize winning author and self taught artist and sculptor it refigures the universal story of Jack and The Beanstalk, with Jack now looking down from a collapsing beanstalk at the environmental horrors below - the goose with the golden egg now force fed for fois gras, battery hens, a landfill and the cow, buried, but still being milked for a kind of petrol. All the sculptures incorporate various elements of the originals, on book bases with a turning page, to create something entirely original, and her the giant is represented by Jack's oversized had.
