Hieronymus Grabstein Russian Federation Photography

Visual artist and sculptor Maksim Harlov in his workspace.

From the ongoing series Monumentum started in 2017, which depicts contemporary Russian monumental artists in their workspaces.

With an incredible opportunity to visit those diverse places and to be surrounded by the energy artists fill them with; I intuitively felt how the textures, materials and objects around me became the continuation of artists’ ideas and subtle spiritual matters. While documenting the physical and metaphysical places I felt there was no bounding line left between them. The workspaces became a powerful source of information on a par with the artists.

My works invite to experience how the living and the nonliving merges; creating a unique and multifaceted world of art.
