Artwork title : Melodia

Music was my inspiration for this piece. In music, we have several phenomena that also occur in visual arts, such as rhythm, arrangement, and composition... The very recording of music using a staff and notes is, for me, beautiful from a purely aesthetic point of view. Music has its own language of form, which offers an infinitely wide range of sounds that make up the entire piece. All this made me decide to tell a story about music using a sculptural form.

The Melodia sculpture is an allegory of youth. It symbolizes the drive towards life and its celebration. It is admiration for the sensual beauty enchanted in the corporeality of the female body.

This work was also a part of my doctoral thesis about the language of form.
