Artwork title : Shades of white

“Different shades of white” is a tryptic made of local seeds I periodically collect not only on the basis of their fluffy feature and colors ( aesthetics) but also for their purifying action (ethics).

In particular, these seeds are precious elements to purify human beings, air, soil and water. This is part of my endless research on nature and biology connected to human beings in order to make  eveident our relation of complete dependance upon it.

Infact, we live in a world of seeds from which we all depend. They're the most valuable resource in the planet and, surely, we should value them as sacred and vital. In the book by biologist T.Hanson (The Triumph of seeds) I found all the scientific data to fall in love with these creative tiny results of evolution.

The hardest part in this work is collecting seeds. I have just a few days at disposal during the year in order to harvest dandelions, thypha and white poplar seeds. It all depends on the wind, the weather conditions, dryness and humidity.

After a period of quarantine, the tough job is cleaning them from tiny fragments of dirt, insects, plant parts which I don't want to include. Everything must be stainless, spotless, perfectly white or beige or grey.

In the end it must be a pure palette of purifying white seeds. Dendelions purify human body, Thypha purifies waters, Poplar purifies soil and air. The all elements are connected.
