ABOUT TIME: ARIA OF POETS (The Future) figuratively embodies an optimistic future. The magnitude of the drapery conveys the magnitude of what lies both in front and behind.  A visual banner flies with winds of fortune.  Testé said, “Each aria of the ‘new’ holds the allure of sweet possibilities. We are poets at the extraordinary beginning of our narratives. Can you tell that Bizet’s Carmen was filling my studio in 2023?” ARIA OF POETS was the second in the ABOUT TIME 2023 series.

All three sculptures from the ABOUT TIME series feature a very deliberate compositional geometry between the figures’ attention and their billowing outsized capes.  Testé traces each swirling force with goldleaf stressing the dynamic potential of the future, present, and past.  She further connects the series with musical metaphors as titles.
