Artwork title : Moby Tub Duck

The conception of Moby Tub Duck took place when reading the book Moby Duck by Donovan Hohn.

This book is about the whole  world around the plastic pollution and the ocean cleaning. As thus it is a journalistic reconnaissance of this strange world where Dutch based The Ocean Cleanup is part of.

It is a rubber duck with it eyes and beak being sewn tight, just like the shrunken heads of some Amazon indigenous tribes.

The rubber duck is hanging on a cord in a glass dome. The wooden basis of the glass dome is standing on three green animal feet with yellow claws.

A blow pipe arrow is sticking out of the body of the rubber duck.

In a accompanying stop motion video a voice over brings this message:

“Has anybody seen my rubber duck? It was last seen on the Amazon river, swimming upstream while mumbling in itself.

The kids are inconsolable.

But wait a minute, rubber ducks should not float on streams, rivers, sea’s or oceans. They should float in tubs, where they belong, being squeezed by kids or coders.

So please, don’t pollute the environment. Because we need it for our food, our drinks and the air we breathe.”
