Artwork title : Autotomy

„Autotomy“ is part of a long term serie called “Greetings from the other side” and is exploring motherhood and womanhood in today’s society. The women I work with for this project are from my day to day life or people I meet on the street. After one or several photoshoots, I start the other part of the process alone in the studio. I draw ideas and inspiration from the person, the interaction and atmosphere. The painting process is quite intuitive and spontaneous and even if I try to present a situation or story or idea, I also try to leave enough space for the viewer to evolve own ideas.
