Artist Statement: In this piece, I have meticulously depicted Chang'e amidst the ethereal expanse of a sea of clouds. According to Chinese mythology, Chang'e was once a mortal woman who ascended to the heavens after consuming the elixir of immortality and was forever bound to the moon. Drawing from Tangka painting techniques, digital tools replicate intricate gilded lines. I tried to pay homage to Chinese mythology and traditional art by combining modern and traditional techniques.
