Artwork title : Of Nature and Straight Lines
The composition of 8 medallions is the next step in my contemplations about surroundings, architecture and nature. In this case the main topics of these paintings are nature and geometry in their most basic forms. My inspiration came from the forest that grows near my house and from my long-term fascination in architecture, both of which have already appeared in my works in the past.
The forest, or to be exact the forest floor, is full of tiny organic shapes which stand in contrast with the simplicity of forms created by humans. In my work I contrapose the above elements to highlight these contrasts, but I also look for balance between the two worlds. After all, when we build our geometric structures, we invade the organic environment; we should seek balance between both worlds and cherish the stability once we have achieved it.
