Artwork title : CAVAE SCUTUM VIII

Acrylic on cancas panel, 40 X 30 cm

The 8th series' artwork represents the current political power in Brazil, but can be extrapolated to authorities scattered around the world, which pretend to defend democracy using artificial narratives.

  • The Serie Cavae Scutun, from Latin, "hollow shield'", is composed of 13 works, this is series came up from a critical and acidic observation of society's numbness in the face of the atrocities that many human beings are suffering. The solution is in the hands of society, which prefers to hide behind false shields, here allegorically represented by small umbrellas over their heads.

  • CAVAE SCUTUM seeks a perspective dialogue with the history of art, visiting works and artists from different artistic movements.
