Artwork title : Crime Scenes
Barrier tape floating between the observer and fields of stars enclosed by its loops. Why is it there? The work's title implies that this is police tape, that those are crime scenes we are looking at. Or is it the other way around, is our side the one that has been cordoned off? What I am aiming at is to let us float for a moment in a zone of uncertainty, held in place by the combined gravitational pull of all the questions that might arise and of which, I am sure, there are more than the artist can think of. Inscribed into the night like a zodiac sign, the tape figure might remind us of the countless myths we believed to have deciphered there throughout history. And even the most obvious interpretation (there are worlds out there and they are made of the same moral fabric as ours) might split up, in order to not outweigh the others: is this good or bad? Does the first or the second part of that statement matter more for us?
