Artwork title : RED LINE
Women have always been oppressed, abused and discriminated against throughout history, especially in a third world country like Afghanistan.
This artistic performance has been prepared and performed for this purpose.
Born and raised in the Third World in Afghanistan, As a girl I have never been safe from violence, barriers and discrimination, and I have always fought for change and freedom for myself and other women.
And I consider art to be one of the best and most effective struggles for change.
In this video (Red line), a woman inside a hijab (burqa) is trying to escape, where the burqa is a symbol of captivity, and the woman is locked inside symbols of various shapes. These symbols define a woman and all of them represent a kind of captivity of a woman.
These symbols are: Utensils (spoons, forks, frames, pots, etc.) Stones, money, cradles, bras and shorts, dishwashing liquid and washing powder, uneven scales, string, etc ... And inside this circle there is an iron that has four sides, all of which are symbols of captivity, violence and discrimination.
In this video, a lady with (burqa) inside an iron frame and this iron frame inside a circular line, which indicates a deep and multi-layered bondage from which it is not easy to get out.
Lady tears the burqa from its hands, eyes, ears, and finally the from its mouth and shouts loudly, this voice is both the voice of pain and captivity and the voice of freedom and joy.
After breaking a layer of captivity, this lady is trying to be more free, because now her hands are free and she can see, she can hear, and she can raise her voice for freedom. After the efforts, the lady reaches the iron fence that can be defined as a house or a prison, or thousands of other captives ...
The lady turns this fence into a gate and then, with the help of the circular fence, the string of which is one of the constituent symbols, hangs the burqa. In this practice, the gallows also means the gate to get out of captivity and also punishes captivity.
This video has many messages to the audience that.
The most important thing is for those who are in captivity, Freedom is in the captivity, anyone can use her/his captivity for her/his freedom.
