Oil on canvas - 157 X 89 cm - includes a timelapse video GIF which can be overlaid onto the canvas, adding an element of time and shifting light which contribute to the theme and significance behind the image. 

This painting has a soft and subtle element of femininity in it's style, color, composition and subject matter - and as such it probes concepts of traditional domestic roles and the redundant and repetative tasks assigned to conventional women throughout history, and how these roles may have been interpreted by those women. The depiction of the livingroom space, hanging and drying laundry, juxtaposed with the barred outdoor terrace space, retraces themes of family and home with that of restriction and confinment. Matron culture is potrayed through ideas of softness, cleanliness, and the style and color palate have been purposfully chosen to inform the viewer of the duality of traditionally domestic female spaces.
