In my pursuit to capture the essence of a place, I was inspired by the geometric approach of the BAUHAUS movement. By applying this approach to the Oculus, a remarkable design by Santiago Calatrava at Ground Zero in New York City, I aimed to express the human aspect of the location. 

 

Despite the apparent contrast between the BAUHAUS and Calatrava's style, my exploration of abstract geometries found a connection through basic shapes. I also documented the human side of the building, highlighting its multiple functions as a transportation hub, a memorial, a place for contemplation, and a selfie spot.

 

My artwork employs geometric forms and chromatic variations to elicit emotional responses and convey the intrinsic qualities of the location.
