Artwork title : Recomposition No. 05
What geometries underlie the built environments? What traces of the past do they include? I composed and recomposed the architectural details of the Oculus, a landmark designed by Santiago Calatrava, looking at it not only as a modification of urban space but also as a spatiotemporal phenomenon.
Exploring layers of cultures, humanity, and landscape through photography, I see buildings with their architecture as modifications of urban space, reflecting the technology and the understanding of humanity at any time. Moreover, I have discovered a musicality in the forms, giving the images autonomy beyond any object of reference.
In the process, the photographs have stopped being the main element, instead becoming a part of compositions as recognizable worldly points of reference. At the same time, abstraction develops its energy and direction, giving way to images that build their own inner needs and intensity and do not care for purity and doing justice to external reality.
