The mask ‘Atlas of My Mind’ represents one of the main emotions of ‘Ma Machine d’Emotions’; Shiver. The emotion Shiver is almost weightless and represented by the prime number 3761, the 523^rd prime number. Shiver has an emotional weight of 2, almost the opposite of Fear (emotional weight 3739).

'Ma Machine d´Emotions’ is the story of a man wrestling with how to express his emotions, who then builds a gigantic, unbelievably complex machine in which he conceals a special emotion that only she for whom it is intended will be able to discover: a secret message meant for one particular person hidden amidst the organised chaos of 523 different emotions.

The story centres on a gigantic man figure depicted kneeling on a wooden chair, who clasps an enormous humming top in his claws, on which the 523 emotions are classified according to a complex order of prime numbers, categories, colors, symbols, new languages, masks and texts. Detailed pen drawings depict the machine and the man and the individual emotions and their interconnections.

I want to inspire and being inspired, I want to guide and be guided. I want to make choices. Do I use my novels and stories in order to build machines. Or do I use my sketches and invented technical drawings, in order to write my stories. Do I actually have to make a choice.

I want to reach out to the public with ‘Ma Machine d’Emotions’. Isolation, social deprivation, loneliness, are timeless themes. During the past pandemic however, more relevant than ever.
