Artwork title : IM36

My artistic research, using local natural materials such as soil and stone, is focused on the synergy between human and nature. Every project I do is conceived to convey the traditions and culture of explored places and how they delve with their habitat.

IM36, from Hiera Series, is one of the pieces created during my stay at Vulcano, Aeolian Islands.

From afar She frightens, intrigues, and attracts with siren song. She, a different entity but at the same time sister. Each shows signs of age, eroded, all equally. Because they are unique, but part of a system.

As you get closer, the song becomes louder and harder, and the turning back even steep. A synesthesia envelops you, and its essence revealed.

From its bowels to its extremity, human wanders through her but respectfully leaves she asleep. At her feet, clement and fearful, he finds shelter.

Every single buried soul is perceived, merges with her and feeds her, fortifying the bond. A continuous and eternal cycle of life and death, the ancestral engine which moves the cosmos.

In the hope that the synergy created will not be broken.
