Gaia Kourotrophos represents nature, Mother Earth in her divine dimension with the vegetative god in her hands. The eternal natural cycle of nature, the seed that is planted, the shoot that grows, the flowering and fruiting, these gifts of mother earth to humans were deified and cherished by the earlier wise, matriarchal cultures.
