L’uomo nero è di plastica. Ed è qui.

È in mezzo a noi, ti sta guardando mentre leggi queste parole.

Acquattato nell’angolo, aspetta solo altro cibo.

Lo dipingiamo con i colori del pregiudizio,

scioccamente spaventati dal diverso.

Non vediamo la sogghignante minaccia che ci assedia.

È l’insaziabile mostro di plastica che, implacabile, divora il mondo.

Si annida nelle oscurità dell’uomo e ne duplica le fattezze.

È l’uomo stesso che lo ha creato e lo nutre, schiacciando le radici della vita.

E lo chiama progresso.

È giunta l’ora di guardare negli occhi il mostro e di affamarlo,

finché gli stenti non lo ridurranno ad innocuo rifiuto da smaltire.

 

 

The boogeyman is made of plastic. And it’s here.

It’s walking among us, while you are reading  these words.

It's sneaking around back there, just waiting for more food.

We paint it with prejudice, foolishly scared by the different.

We don’t see the wry danger besieging us.

It’s the insatiable plastic monster that, relentless, devours our world.

It lurks in the darkness of human beings and duplicates their features.

Humans created it and they are nourishing the monster, which dries the roots of life.

And they define it progress.

It’s time to look the monster into the eyes and starve it, till hunger and hardship reduce it to a harmless waste to be thrown away.
