Artwork title : Capitalist Imaginations
There are people who accomplish their goals from zero, with all of their hard work, coming from nowhere (in case of financial backgrounds and support). And there are also people who accomplish their goals from zero, with all of their hard work even coming from good, supportive backgrounds with various kinds of connections. But the second type of person gets to be criticized more irrespective of their talents and hard work. Although it’s an undeniable fact that a supportive and good financial background is a great deal, the fact that some people use that properly and some don’t is also a great unavoidable matter of discussion! From another perspective, we all have different levels of unfair advantages that we usually neglect while criticizing others for their achievements or accomplishments; especially if the targeted person has a strong connective and financial background. So, I was actually thinking about all of these and then I came to my case while I was making this piece. The advantages I get, the luxuries I get when I'm doing an artwork. In a growing third world nation, where providing bare minimum food for the family is a big concern for a large number of the population, there are thousands of artists who come from different backgrounds of unfair advantages and get all kinds of appreciation and criticism for their works. Although there are lots of concepts and socialistic idealisms in my country, I think capital is a great deal while making anything, especially artwork! Here, in this piece I criticised myself of having my unfair advantages of making art and exhibiting it to the world. But I also portrayed the necessity of capital in different socialistic and economical scenarios. Some of my thoughts on this same work can clash with each other, but I guess that makes the work/topic more dramatic and interesting!
