Description:
These works show a series that deals with the theme of the “Balancing Act“ in everyday life. The works themselves refer to the psychological and meditative field. The act of everyday balance in these paintings is simplified and playfully represented by using the basic geometric elements of the line, triangle, rectangle, square, ellipse, and circle in different variations. Thereby the point is marked as the smallest black circle at the height of the golden section. (An indication of the efforts of an ideal harmony in everyday life.) The colors are based on primary and secondary colors. Meanwhile, the different forms, fragments, and colors are standing in contrast with each other.
Mostly we try to structure our everyday life, in order to perfect it, in the hope of creating some kind of possible harmony. Life is often not easy and associated with a lot of obstacles, so I painted various rough forms as a methodical transition to it.
Our everyday life contains areas of a standstill as well as areas of movement, characterized by moving (organic) and unmoving (static) lines and forms.
The important thing is not to lose our orientation. We need a focus in order not to sink into chaos. However, if we take on too much, for example, if we have to do too many things, the balance can lead to an imbalance. These circumstances can then cause psychological and mental problems, as well as illness. Widespread phenomena are burnout and cancer. Therefore, we should also try to include the fun factor and enjoy life, which is symbolically represented by the smiley in the form of a semicircle. Allowing sufficient breaks is just one positive way to restore and improve inner balance.
The goal for each individual person is to find their own personal golden mean. Finding a harmonious balancing act is often connected with overcoming, effort, perseverance, and time. However, we should never give up in our lives, no matter how many challenges and defeats there are! We should always try to remain optimistic!
