Artwork title : Semina ( To Sow)

Semina is a work about changes of scale, and it is built in two stages. First, organic and inorganic micro-elements are arranged by hand on the acetate of a 24×36 mm slide, no bigger than a postage stamp: this is a unique prototype that cannot be copied. Then the slide is photographed, enlarged roughly tenfold and printed directly on an aluminium plate, without the use of artificial intelligence. Moving from the 24×36 mm format to the final 33×26 cm changes the proportions of the image, so the framing is a compositional choice: to look is to choose a portion of the world, and what stays outside the frame continues to exist. What is usually discarded becomes a landscape of copper fields, golden veins and small pale bodies scattered like seeds: a root, a river delta, a living tissue. The metal gives the image a light that changes with the viewer, and fixes what is fragile and ephemeral. Semina offers a gaze of care toward what consumption discards: it does not accuse, it shifts attention.
