Artwork title : “If your eyes are the window to your soul, then your eyebrows are the door to your brain”

The origin of the proverb "The eyes are the window to your soul" has been attributed to numerous authors across many centuries: the Apostles, William Shakespeare, and a host of other writers, actors, and influencers. The idea is that the clarity of the eyes and the appearance of the gaze allow one to deduce a wealth of information about a person: their state of health, mood, cognitive abilities, character traits, and so on. The resulting metaphors are certainly romantically appealing and retain an enigmatic and esoterically reassuring quality to this day, yet there is no scientific basis for them. In fact, the eyes are not a vital organ, but they are nonetheless essential to our bodies. The characteristics of this organ (shape, size, color) are inherited through the genetic makeup of its parents. There's nothing particularly romantic about that. The most significant experience of my life so far was meeting atherapist specializing in motor activities. One morning, I complimented her on her eyes, bright, transparent, and lighter than usual. She replied, calmly and with a certain resignation, that she suffered from cyclical migraines, and that the color
of her eyes changed during those days.
We see in the eyes of others what we want to see. Sometimes, we see the sincerity
we desire. Sometimes, we see the closed-mindedness we needed to see for our own
confirmation. Sometimes we get fooled, like idiots.
The choice of model was of crucial importance. The model's facial features are very striking, clear and transparent eyes, and above all, also thick and untamed eyebrows.
The sequence of panels, from gaze to left to gaze to right,
passing through the frontal view, represents the chronological evolution of the model's state of mind projected onto it.

The upper panel is connected to the central panel by nuts and metal chains,
representing the "fixed" ideas that evolve toward the more flexible elements (the chains). The model's direct and clear gaze, reinforced by the nails that emphasize the
strength of character, prompts a reorientation of judgment by the viewer.

Finally, the model's visible eyebrow on the lower panel is decorated with
medicinal pills. The pills represent the viewer's need to
"cure" their judgment.
