Artwork title : The Edge of Freedom

The Edge of Freedom is a confluence where molten encaustic, weathered textiles, and oil pigments evoke the shifting boundary between ocean and marsh. This liminal space mirrors the fragile thresholds in our own lives, where personal and collective wounds surface like tides against the shore. The work carries the memory of trauma, both human and environmental, which is woven into textures that echo flood patterns, eroded banks, and tangled roots. Yet, in this meeting place of saltwater and reeds, there is also emergence: a quiet resilience, a shimmer of light refracted across the water. It is here, on this uncertain edge, that freedom begins, not as escape, but as the moment of seeing clearly, when loss, change, and renewal converge into truth.
