This is part of an ongoing series called “Remnants”, which explores the idea that ancient advanced civilizations might have left artifacts of unknown purpose in space, such as the monoliths in the film “2001: A space Odyssey”. In this painting, large artifacts float silently and ominously in space, despite their apparently innocent colorful appearance. The small tiles in the background represent part of a ring of asteroids circling the remnants. They also point to the flow of time going in both directions.
