Artwork title : Tribute to Magritte

Sculpture, h 40cm, l 35cm, p 30cm, Pièce unique, 2025

As a sculptor, I have always wanted to revisit the works of certain painting geniuses—a kind of personal revival, if you will. It involves interpreting great classics of painting—works that are, by nature, two-dimensional—and transforming them into three-dimensional pieces, through which I offer a modest tribute to the original artist.
In this instance, I drew inspiration from René Magritte and one of his lesser-known masterpieces, "The Red Model" (*Le Modèle Rouge*). Magritte actually created seven different versions of this work, and—true to his style—the title offers no clue as to what the piece actually depicts.
I set out to extend the artist’s work by adding a third dimension—a vision I would have loved to present to him. Tell me: do you think my work follows in the footsteps of the Master?
