Artwork title : Special Dishes

The inspiration for this project came from my good friend's mother, who took her own life in 2018 due to mental illness. When this tragic news happened in my life, I became concerned and aware of the rate of suicide caused by mental illness. I hope more people will understand how these illnesses feel and affect them.

The work is based on the theme of bipolar disorder.

The first level of meaning is that the main character uses a meal to experience the patient's feelings, in the hope that people will understand the illness properly, rather than simply thinking: "You're just in a bad mood", "Don't be so melodramatic, be happy".

The second level of meaning is to use the serving of food as a satire on the phenomenon of bringing certain types of people and things to the table for consumption in order to traffic to make a profit.

The third layer of meaning discusses the issue of online violence. That is, the purest evil of keyboard warriors hiding behind the anonymous environment of the internet. Through this work, I hope to make the viewer reflect on whether they have ever been the abuser in the film? On the internet, everyone can choose to put on a different mask to show themselves. Everyone can be a Buddha, and everyone can be a demon. But what is behind the mask may only be known to oneself.
