Artwork title : Carol: Just Look at the Pretty Flower

This mixed media assemblage is created using found objects as well as handmade items by the artist. Amount these items are two small, acrylic paintings, and a clay heart. The little paintings contained in the abstract, adorn and are within a small, tin box. The viewer has the ability to flip the lid and peek at the hidden scene inside. Additionally, the artist uses recycled papers that she rolls into tubes and then forms these tubes into various shapes such as circles, ovals and rectangles. Many of the items the artist uses in her works are destined for the landfill. The substrate is a cradled wood panel and is not meant for framing. While the entirety of this mixed media assemblage piece is in the abstract, it is not without meaning or symbology to the artist. Ultimately, to the artist it simply represents transformation.
