Artwork title : Mirror Horses 1

Since the beginning of time, no single animal has afforded mankind the gift of freedom and power, like horse.

My specific way of looking at reality is through inspiration and interpretation of horses.

I use traditional materials and drawings techniques which lead me to an achromatic palette where black is absence of all colours and white is presence of all colours.

During the process of creating, I ask myself how much freedom do I have in today`s world?

In my artworks black represents lack of freedom where white coloured paper appears as total freedom and power. The tension and strong contrast between black and white reflects my way of experiencing freedom. The balancing act of everyday life.

The biological structure of drawings is cleaned of all additions and almost reduced to the visualization of the very idea and symbol of the horse. Repetitive forms are rhythmic and measure the time moving process. They are a movement in space, waves of rising and falling, increasing, and decreasing. Like my freedom which is ever-changing.
