Artwork title : Mirror Horses

I evoke nature, especially horses which are my biggest and finest inspiration. Horses enable me to be a part of something bigger, they expend my perspective and liberate me from the outside world. The strong connection I have with them gives me the freedom and power during the process of creating. The process which is always long and unclear is a mixture between my intellectual and empiric experiences. The drawings are coming from the deepest part of my soul, born from circumstances and challenges I faced. I believe that a continuously changing nature is mirroring my life and is defining my drawings. My subject matter offers me an unlimited interpretation of life, movement and the spirit than runs them all. I use traditional materials like ink and handmade paper, with drawing techniques that allow me to pay tribute to my favourite artists: A. Durer, Hokusai, E.Haeckel and K. Blossfeldt. I am influenced by Japanese art where suggestion is used rather than direct statement. Also, the Baroque which involves highly ornate, dramatic and complex composition and I am transforming it into a strong and lively movement. The drawing style is delicate but expressive at the same time further influenced by the Art Nouveau. My lines capture the beauty of horses with heavily outlined forms, suggesting power.
