Artwork title : Santa III

Santa III is an oil painting made as a result of fascination of Santa Muerte, a misterious cult of symbols, colors and odd beliefs. The painting is capturing a moment of agreement between a human and higer force that is about to make the humans wishes come true. A person of Santa Muerte, a skeleton is watching it all happen. The whole agreement is surrounded by attributes such as colors, animals and flowers. The painting is 210x240cm, painted in traditional oil technique, covered in damar varnish. It is a part of "Santa" series, a series of 5 paintings, depicting the topic of Santa Muerte cult. The series is a part of a PhD project entitled "Chroma Haze" made in association with The Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland.
