According to ancient Indian scriptures... Lord Shiva (The Creator, The Destroyer and The Preserver) dances deep within our soul for the purpose of releasing the soul from the snare of ever-elusive thoughts. He as a father-figure dispels the darkness of illusion and tramples upon the evil within, showering grace and lovingly plunges the soul into an ocean of spiritual bliss !

A parallel thought is taken from the ever graceful Epic ‘Swan lake Ballet’, where the lead characters of the White swan ( Odette ) and Black swan ( Odile ) are both performed by the same dancer ( self ). The frivolousness of the thoughts can be visually compared to the graceful agility and nimbleness of ballerina’s toe movements.  In my mind, both black and white ‘thought swans’ dance this rthymic duet. The Black ‘thought swans’ tries to lure the divided ‘self’ lost in contemplation/ scepticism and the white ones rejoice and rise in the eternal delight of devotion. The ‘self’ can also be compared to the buddhi or “Apasmaraa” – the dwarf of ignorance at the feet of Shiva’s Natraja form.

The spiritual awakening or the mind’s twilight is witnessing our surrender to divinity after long speculations..
