Artwork title : Bucket Pendulum

Bucket Pendulum is a digital performance video. A recording of a performance I created live in a studio space, recording both the front and aerial view. The bucket swings from one side to another in a pendulum motion, while releasing ink from the holes in the bucket. The performance also works as a painting machine, when the ink hits the white surface it creates a painting based on how and where the bucket swings. The bucket is used as a mechanism for releasing the ink onto the surface, causing humour and irony within the performance as the bucket is serving purpose other than its original and expected purpose, which is to hold liquids. This performance is an exploration of process, finding unusual ways to create a painting from a performance and is able to be viewed both live and digitally.
