Artwork title : Trapped

 In the work I hope to symbolise the internal walls that we as humans are constantly putting up around ourselves. This can often feel as though we’re drowning, pushing against something to escape thew  limits we’ve placed on ourselves.

It would be so easy to just stand up and escape, to take a deep breath but most of the time we can't see what would be the most obvious solution for our struggles.

It is not necessarily about being physically trapped which  we experienced nowadays through the recent pandemic but for me it was more about internally walls and the pressure we are putting on ourselves.On the hands of the sculpture you would depict compressions as if she is pressing against glass. 

I am posing the  figure in a way that she feels weightless, because I wanted to give the impression of her floating.
