Tomasz Jan Wozniak Poland Mix Media

Chaos is the main topic of the artwork presented. We are constantly bombarded by a number of information that is not possible to grasp. It is hard to distinguish truth from falsehood. Our minds are cluttered by the media, our surroundings, thoughts are racing through our brains with the speed of light and we are constantly obliged to know more and process more.

My artwork represents this complex and seemingly monstrous world of thought forms, as they seamlessly flow from one to the other. The process itself is intuitive, I never plan what to paint. It comes in the same manner as automatic handwriting, from one shape to the other, the piece is constructed in the course of its creation.

It gives the viewer an opportunity to interpret the composition and colours through their own viewpoint, experiences and observations. Everyone sees different shapes and recognizes different forms, provoking a discussion between audience members as to what the artwork actually represents.

What appears to frequently come across are resemblances to natural phenomena - plants, creatures and landscapes entangled and interwoven with one another, reflecting my love of nature and fear of the impact our civilisation has upon it.

The piece itself has therapeutic values. For me it is a way to create and externalize my thoughts and emotions, as well as to convey them into a tangible form of expression. The intention is to offer healing to the audience through colours like in chronotherapy, as well as shapes which are frequently closely related to reiki symbols - a part of my work as a reiki practitioner and therapist.
