Goliarda/Modesta, 2021, interactive mixed media on canvas, 120 x 60 cm 

This work is dedicated to the Italian author Goliarda Sapienza. This woman wrote the book "The Art of Joy" which she did not manage to get published during her lifetime. It was rejected everywhere because the novel was considered far too avant-garde and scandalous in its presentation of the woman and the pitfalls that her heroine Modesta meets. In this work, I have presented The Author and his Heroine as being double of each other, in the manner of playing cards (queen of hearts/tile or queen of spades/clover), we do not know exactly who is one and who is the other. They seem interchangeable, twinned, in an inseparable continuum.
