Submitted artwork style, called Tanjore Painting orginated in South India. In The Late 16th Century In Thanjavur, also Known As Tanjore In Tamilnadu South Indian State. These Tanjore Paintings evoke a sense of class and timelessness with their lavish and rich alluring illustrations of puranic scenes. This Ancient Art Form Traces Its Origin To Tanjavur, Capital Of The Erstwhile Chola Empire and is popular among contemporary Indian women for showcasing their artistic inclination and tastes.

The painting techique is passed on from generations to generations by family of artist called as "Raju" or "Naidus". I've learnt this techique from traditional artist, National Award Winner, Sri Venkatesa Raja, in 1992 and have been practising this art form during my spare time as a hobby.

The subject chosen for my submission is Hindu Goddess Gaja Lakshmi. This aspect like most other aspects of Lakshmi is representative of prosperity, good luck, and abundance.

Here I've tried to recreate the Tanjore painting styles using the same process that was followed few hundred years. The process includes eight stages, starting from board preparation to relief work, to gold guliding, polished glass stones, semi precious and diamonds. The total time taken to create this Tanjore Painting is approximately 200 hrs.
