Heming Zhang United States Sculpture

Mao’s statues were once a necessity for every household in China during the Red era. However, in current era, everyone is reshaping their idols, either in a process of self-approving or gods creating. The standard has been deviated, but it seems that Is seeking to be the same idol. This group of sculptures uses the most common building material: cement, which uses the deformation of a thin silicone mold during the reworking process. The deformation of each statue seems to give them a different character, just like us.
