The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, hand cut collage 24 x 35 cm.
I have used a page of an ancient book from a market in India, but the language on the back is actually Urdu, spoken in Pakistan. The few visible written lines are from a love poem. The work, as the title subtends, wonders about the practice of art in our contemporary era. We may spend some time "watching" the others' desires and lives, but Vulture will always fly above us as much as Fate will turn its eyes to us if we intend to see it.
The collage is part of Momentum Theory, a series of 17 collages.
The series is intended almost as a stack of " Polaroids " of thoughts about time, space, game, courage, irony, declinations of love and war, and more extensively about human nature.
